Just Depends Layouts

version one: crossing;

The first layout to justdepends (which back then was known as silent dreams). It's a pretty crappy layout, looking back on it now. The color scheme is horrible and the manip was equally bad. And it was pink - not my best color. However, I will say it's a pretty okay layout for a beginner.

version two: tina;

This layout depicts one of my friends at the time, Tina. We had bonded over random things, one of them being that we both loved building websites. I guess you could say it was sort of a tribute to her. The color scheme was better than the first layout and again, much is wrong with it - the blending. But it was an early layout so I forgive myself.

version three: vamping spike;

My first Spike layout which never made it to the web. I had just downloaded some new brushes for photoshop which I had been keen on experimenting with. I got a bit too carried away and trying to create a layout which I was not experienced enough to code. My eyes were too big for my brain. It happens. The layout was recycled and used later on though.

version four: i miss you;

My first blink 182 layout. Just learned how to code links into the image. Not the best layout, as Tom and Travis were covered with the content which made the background way too busy. It happens. I learned. I grew. Great picture though.

version five: go!

The second blink 182 layout (they are my all time favorite band afterall). Mainly just trying to get music to play on my site. I failed. Otherwise it was a fun layout to make (I had fun making all my layouts and I always thought they were awesome after I made them). That's pretty much it.

version six: edward scissorhands;

Recycled the coding for layout five and created this. All I did was tweak the lighting and contrast of the picture. It's a pretty crappy layout all in all. I think I was just obsessed with changing layouts at this point and didn't care how unoriginal they turned out.

version seven: once more with feeling;

My first spuffy layout (my otp of the time) and it had only taken me six previous layouts to get to it. In my original assesment of this layout, I said it was crappy. Which I agree with. The screencap quality was horrible, the blending was horrible, the color scheme again (pink!) was horrible. This was just a bad layout. But if was a spuffy one so I was happy with it.

version eight: greatest day with james

I had a thing for James Marsters at the time (poor man has not aged well). Blended two photos, tweaked the contrast and that was pretty much it. Lyrics are Bowling for Soup's Greatest Day.

version nine: delerium trigger;

A quickie. Greatest Day with James had been the first layout for the new domain (silent dreams finally became just depends) but I consider this the real first layout for the new domain as Greatest Day had been the last layout for Silent Dreams. This is a pretty crappy layout also, made with brushes I had downloaded and Coheed & Cambria lyrics from their song Delerium Trigger.

version ten: vamping spike again;

I like to recycle my layouts sometimes, usually when I don't have an ounce of creativity left in me. Also with the fact that the orignial version of this layout never made it to the web. So, here's Vamping Spike, he actually stayed on the web for a good three months.

version eleven: shut up;

Recycled the codes from the previous layout to create a new blink 182 layout. New color scheme. Pretty boring. I'm sorry.

version twelve: whatshername;

This layout I will admit was pretty fun. While it isn't perhaps the prettiest layout I've ever created, it's probably one of the most complex. I kind of became obsessed with frames and somehow figured I had to fit as many differnt frames as I could into the layout. It featured Green Day which is probably one of the best bands to come out of my generation. So what if they use the same chords for almost every song? They make it work.

version thriteen: no doubt;

This is probably the first layout I created without any help from anyone on the coding (yes, I had help coding all the previous layouts). Which of course made me pretty proud of myself. I had also just learned a new technique for blending and at the time I was listening to No Doubt's Return to Saturn on repeat so this came out of it. It was originally a wallpaper too. And look! It's the first time the pink theme actually worked! Kind of sad I didn't manage to get a real screenshot of it while it was up.

version fourteen: rupert grint;

Ah tutorials - how I live my photoshop life around them - seriously. I used this tutorial from hybrid-genesis which is one of the best graphic sites on the net. Anyways, it's Rupert Grint - who I love. Why? Not only does he play Ron in the HP movies, but he's pretty damn good looking too if I do say so myself - which I do. Needless to say, I like. And this was a fun layout to do. And I of course recyled it over at my livejournal.

version fifteen: best mates;

First layout featuring my Harry Potter otp, Harry/Ron. I really don't have much to say about it, other than I really like it still, and it was fun to make. That and I created a seperate layout for my blog like a loser, but that was simply because it was the first time a blog had ever graced the site.

blog: version one: daniel radcliffe;

I had just created the blog portion of justdepends and for some strange reason thought it would be cool to give it a seperate layout to call it's own. I really don't understand it either. But hey, at least it was pretty.

version sixteen: a place in the sun

Layout created January '08 over winter break and it's the first layout in the history of just depends to feature your awesome hostess, me. Yes, that girl in the upper left hand corner with her eyes blackened out is none other than me, Alex. I had had a project for one of my art classes in which I had to create a work in the style of a favorite artist. I chose the wonderful Lara Jade and after going through my roll of film, picked my favorites and created a layout. I found it pretty awesome when I first put it up but then it began to grate on my eyes and so A Place in the Sun was replaced with a new layout.

version seventeen: psych

A look into one of my all time favorite TV shows, Psych. This layout features James Roday in all his fake-psychic goodness. Really, I created this layout to mirror the layout I use over at it's livejournal (which was created by minty_peach). And that's pretty much that.

version eighteen: zachary quinto

The current layout of justdepends featuring actor Zachary Quinto, better known as Sylar from Heroes. While I did love the previous layout, it was time for a change and I wanted to keep the layout and color scheme simple. It's all about simplicity. However I shall not take all the credit as it was mainly coded by artphilia. You know the deal, to match the livejournal layout. That's pretty much that.
